What a great opening party! We are still amazed at the amount of people that came yesterday to revive with us one more time the good old Tacheles with the amazing photographs of Stefan Schilling. With our exhibition “Tacheles 27” Schilling is showcasing pictures from his own Tacheles Book celebrating also the 27th Birthday of the occupation of the famous Tacheles arthouse.
At 5 p.m. was the start of the opening party and from that time on our Klassenfeind Gallery was croweded with people from Berlin or around the world. It is suprising and also great to see that even the young generations are still curious to learn about what the Tacheles arthouse was despite having missed the opportunity to visit the arthouse. Stefan Schilling’s photographies make it easy for the spectator to feel the atmosphere and the nostalgy that is related with the Tacheles, that has been closed now more than 4 years. The photos show not only special moments of the Tacheles era but also give some very interesting insides into the lives of the Tacheles aritsts.
It was also amazing to see and fell how the Tacheles is still in the hearts of so many people of Berlin or from around the world. We hope that every visitor last night has got an idea of what the Tacheles was and what it still represents for Berlin. One thing is sure: It will always remain a part of Berlin.
