TIME TO SAY GOODBYE

In German there is a saying: „Man soll gehen, wenn es am schönsten ist“!
It means: „It’s always best to leave when things are at their best!“

21 months Klassenfeind Gallery worked with artists from the former Tacheles arthouse. Our mission was to create a place where people from around the world can collect experiences instead of things and where people can find the Underground,-Street and Tacheles art from Berlin.

Another purpose of this project was to have fun and to create a new place for the homeless artists of Tacheles, to give them a gallery in the heart of Berlin. A gallery where they not only can exhibit their art but where every day tourists and locals will come by and take their impressions home. We accomplished this when we opened the Klassenfeind Gallery in Oranienburger Str. 22 in June 2015. Since then we had visitors from all over the world, from South America, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Russia and many, many more.

Opening Party at Klassenfeind Gallery

The collaboration with the Tacheles artists has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride. Some of the Klassenfeind highlights have been our grand opening party with Tim Roeloffs, Andreas Schiller, Laloquita, Emilie Gotmann, and more in February 2016, the Doggyssage with Tim, Kemalion, and others last November and our partnership with Gallery Blauwdruck in Zwolle, Netherlands.

We worked with great artists like Tim Roeloffs, who was our main artist for 19 months, before we decided that the Klassenfeind rollercoaster ride would end with the photographic exhibition of Stefan Schilling „Tacheles 27“.

Tacheles 27“ has been a huge success. Around 500 people came to the Vernissage and we are expecting a lot of guests again for our Finissage/Closing Party on the 11th of March.

This Finissage will be the last event of the Klassenfeind Gallery. It will be at the same time our goodbye party. That means that the era of our Klassenfeind Gallery will end this Saturday and we would be honored to raise the beer bottles with you for one last time before we close.

Cheers,
Your Klassenfeind Gallery
