Limited Edition of Nerfertiti now at Klassenfeind Gallery:
Nerfertiti was an Egyptian queen and became famous by her bust which can be admired now in Berlin’s Neues Museum. The bust is one of the most copied works of ancient Egypt.
Our artist, Tim Roeloffs, has made his first limited edition serigraphs. This splendid series consists of eight silhouettes of the beautiful Nefertiti, printed in black, with each piece different to the one before. Spread over the surface, Roeloffs printed some letters too, integrating perfectly the whole composition.
The background of each serigraph is made with aquarelle, where Roeloffs used just the three primary colors (yellow, cyan and magenta). This technique allows the artist to blend the colors on the surface of work, creating the secondayry colors, which we can perceive also in the composition.
This is a special limited edition, not only for being the first one of Tim Roeloffs, but also, because he uses the image of the bust of Nefertiti. She is one of the icons of Berlin, further the icon of universal beauty, as her own name means „the beauty has come“.
